With the BP Mx brush polishing machine and its new development BP Motion, René Gerber AG offers adapted solutions for precise, targeted, and reproducible edge honing and polishing. Both machines are available in modular design with user-specific configuration. We are now giving them each their own focus:

The BP Mx - for machining super hard materials using our diamond pastes.

The BP Motion - for machining inserts and cutting tools with diamond brushes in the wet process

Over the years, we have been able to build up know-how especially in the fine machining of hard and super hard materials. To ensure even more optimal machining of the various materials, we now recommend our proven BP Mx brush polishing machine for machining super hard materials such as sapphire, ruby, carbide and PCD. Best results are achieved by using our in-house diamond paste Diastar. This produces first-class surface finishes with the highest precision, which is particularly important in the watch making industry.

Our new BP Motion brushing machine, on the other hand,  allows with its outstanding axis dynamics and innovative control logic,  to machine and hone each edge in a different way. Therefore, we recommend to especially use the BP Motion for honing carbide cutting tools or indexable inserts. In addition, the BP Motion is optimally prepared for the automation of parts handling.
The use of pastes becomes superfluous with the BP Motion. Instead, diamond brushes are used, which only require a liquid feed for cooling and cleaning. Liquids in the form of oil or emulsion are fed in via a central filter system to dissipate the heat generated in the process. Thereby we achieve the highest surface quality, long brush service life and a constant process. Tedious cleaning of paste residues is eliminated.The obtained results can be reproduced with constant precision. Thanks to automation, the machine can be loaded and unloaded automatically.

Furthermore, we were able to extend the brush speeds from 60 - 600 to 0 - 1000 rpm, which enables us now to provide higher performance for various processes.
